The Noisy Night Nativity

On 12th December we went to Wee Care Day Care's ( Tia's playgroup) Nativity thing - The Noisy Night. All the kids were performing together, singing songs, and telling the Christmas Story. Tia's group - The Busy Bees, were animals by the manger, and Tia has been asked also to represent England in national costume(!) and bring a gift to Baby Jesus in a bit of an international paegant type thing. Creative, I know!

Tia was singing her songs around the house and doing all the actions. We were trying to find an English flag, and looking for ways to sneak the other parts of her heritage into her little outfit.

At first Tia was quite keen on singing songs with the rest of the crowd, and waving her flag. Then she got bored and walked off the stage. Then she walked back on the stage and sang some more. Then she walked off the stage so we went to join her up there to keep her company.
After awhile she went to the back of the chapel and watched everything

"Mom, this is FUN!" she said
"Yes, Tia, but you're meant to be up there darling"
"I like songs Mom!"
"Would you like to sing with your friends?"
"No mom, I want to watch."
So hung out on and off the stage for much of the event. And when it was time for Little Miss England to say hi to Baby Jesus, she had got rid of all her costume and flags and didn't want to go anymore. So when she was announced Daddy lifted her higher than the little angels , and Miss England gave a little wave, and got a big cheer.

Tia and Teacher Ruth
They were a few more songs (on a very dodgy sound system and a CD that kept jumping) and soon all the little ones were running around playing with friends, or having tantrums with their parents or standing around picking their noses, and eating their offerings.

And some , like Tia went back to see the Baby Jesus away from the glare of adults and they played with him, and poked his eyelids
