First impressions

We've been here as a family for two days - so everything is still pretty new!
We're in a 3 bedroom appartment, on the 3rd floor, which is simple but good (I do get the feeling though that carrying the groceries even to the elevator when the winter kicks is in going to get pretty old, pretty quick). Like all of the campus, our appartment block is set amongst the trees and the park, a stark contrast to the desert landscape we've come to know.
Tia decided that she wanted to take some pictures and so she grabbed the camera and clicked away. Perhaps we'll get you some more pictures of the appartment at a later date.
Right now you have it from the toddler's perspective!
Chris' classes don't get underway for awhile yet, so right now its time for checking out grocery stores, and IKEA, finding parks and TARGET. There's a definite local vibe here, an emphasis on buying locally produced food, supporting local farmers, eating food in season. And there's an environmental consciousness here too, ethical banks and stores, a cooperative grocery store. It reminded us of the UK a little. Drive in another direction towards Walmart and Super Target and everything is a lot more urban, and eclectic. People of every class, colour and life stage. Nobody stands out. Except us when we talk, of course!
Tia was ill for another 24 hours, vomiting and the like, but she seems free and clear now. The girls are settling in, and its great to be together again as a family. Stay tuned for more Saxton adventures!
