Camp Pinerock

So on Friday we drive about 1 hour north of here to Camp Pinerock in Prescott, where Chris is speaking at a youth retreat for a local church. Suddenly we're in winter again! There's hail the size of...well, big hailstones, and snow that settles.
We took a team of our young adults with us. They were part of the worship team and small group leaders - and they did a fantastic job. And Tia loves playing with the gang, so always has lots of giggles when they're around. Tia's got some kind of infection/cold/whatever and so hasn't quite been herself. She's lost her voice so is sounding like a husky baby who's voice is about to break! But she's on the antibiotics now and getting her appetite (Oyeniranesque in proportion and sheer culinary enjoyment) back.
One of the main things Chris spoke about was justice, and it got us thinking. For some reason it seems that social action issues had a much higher profile in the UK. Maybe its all the FairTrade stuff and Make Poverty History, but it seemed easier to incorporate a global consciousness into our lifestyle. It was definitely easier to find out what is going on in the world. But that's just taught us that we need to be more proactive about it. So the weekend, and reading Bono's book has got us inspired again....
