It's Serve Day!

On 18th February we had our first "Serve Day" at church. 1000 people from the congregations spent the day cleaning parks, painting houses, working at food banks, working alongside Habitat for Humanity, making packages for refugees - the list goes on. Events like this are commonplace in some churches, but for our church it was a first and marked a new day. It was great getting out there with the church and serving the community practically. Chris was at college all day, but Tia and I didn't want to miss out. We went park cleaning! We were not the fastest team (you try pushing a stroller, whilst picking up trash and your child's toys which keep getting thrown out of the stroller), but we had lots of giggles and Tia gave smiles to everyone! At the end of the day, we all gathered back at church to celebrate and thank God for all He had done. And for hot dogs!
