San Diego

Finally - a vacation!!! We've just returned from a few days away in San Diego. We rented an appartment in Mission bay. The temperature was perfect about 75 - 80 degrees( 23 - 26 celcius) and the sun was shining. We went for walks, went to the beach, that sort of thing. Tia played in the water like a natural...

The highlight of our trip was a visit to Sea World, where we got to see killer whales, sharks, penguins - get soaked in a dolphin show, that sort of thing. Tia was rather tentative at first. She didn't like touching the dolphins, or the manta rays (no great surprise there...). But after seeing the tropical fish, she slowly got into it and started saying "oooo" and "wow" in all the right places. She loved the sea lions - i think she likened them to dogs. She was so friendly with the star fish that she tried to eat it. And there were a few unusual connections; Tia LOVED the huge giant UGLY eel things, and manatee.
And by the end of the day, even the dolphins got some Tia love!


The end of the week came all too soon and we returned to the more desert like climes of Phoenix. And even though we've lived here nearly two years now - it was a bit of a shock coming home to 110 degrees (43 celcius)!
