Thanksgiving

So last Thursday was Thanksgiving , a huge holiday over here in the States. Families and friends get together, eat, drink and watch football. We thought we too should get into the spirit of things....

We started the daysitting in from of the TV under a huge duvet watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade (held in Times Square, New York) . Then Jo went swimming, because she likes that sort of thing.

Then we headed out to our good friends the Landgrafs for Thanksgiving dinner. Now the plan was to take photos of the Turkey, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, stuffing, salads, dinner rolls etc, but it made far more sense just sitting down and eating them instead. But to give you a bit of a cultural experience - see above for the remains of apple pie, pumpkin pie and pecan pie.

Well after all that good food - what do you do next. Well some watched a football ( American football) game. Tia decided it was time to play the piano and teach the lovely Lena Landgraf a melody or two. Chris and a few of the guys played Playstation Air Guitar II. Jo decided to take the weight of her feet and sit and chat with whoever was listening - in this case our friends Greg and Alicia, pictured above.

Thanksgiving is a fab time to remember all the good things you have in life and all that, and its an added bonus that you get to hang out, eat and have fun with people you love. But its also a reminder that Christmas is around the corner. Because from that moment on, the Christmas melodies are ringing through the shopping malls. Holiday season is ON.
